  • 1–2 Weeks Before Your Peel:

    • Avoid Retinoids & Exfoliants: Stop using products containing retinol, tretinoin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or other exfoliants unless instructed otherwise.

    • No Waxing or Hair Removal Creams: Avoid waxing, threading, or depilatory creams on the treatment area.

    • Limit Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun as much as possible and avoid tanning beds. Always wear SPF 30+ if you’re outdoors.

    • Pause Certain Treatments: Stop other skin treatments like microdermabrasion or laser treatments on the area to be peeled.

    3–5 Days Before:

    • Keep Skin Hydrated: Use a gentle, hydrating moisturizer and drink plenty of water.

    • Skip Harsh Products: Avoid any strong scrubs, masks, or toners that may dry out or irritate the skin.

    • Avoid Active Breakouts: Let us know if you're experiencing any active cold sores or severe acne, as we may need to reschedule your treatment.

    Day of the Peel:

    • Come with Clean Skin: Avoid makeup, lotions, or SPF on your face.

    • Dress Comfortably: Wear loose, comfortable clothing and avoid anything that might rub on the treatment area.

    • Disclose Any Medications: Let us know about any current medications, recent procedures, or health conditions during your consultation.

  • After your chemical peel, your skin will be more sensitive, so it’s crucial to follow these guidelines to ensure smooth healing and optimal results.

    1–3 Days After the Peel:

    • Avoid Direct Sun Exposure: Your skin will be more prone to sun damage. Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every day, even if you're indoors, and avoid direct sunlight as much as possible.

    • No Touching or Picking: Resist the urge to touch or pick at peeling skin, as this can cause scarring or infection.

    • Keep Skin Hydrated: Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to keep the skin soft and hydrated. We recommend products specifically designed for post-peel recovery.

    • Gentle Cleansing: Cleanse your skin with lukewarm water and a mild, non-exfoliating cleanser. Avoid hot water, as it may cause irritation.

    4–7 Days After the Peel:

    • Expect Peeling: Your skin may begin to peel after a few days. This is normal as the outer layers of skin are sloughing off to reveal fresher, smoother skin beneath. Let the peeling process occur naturally—do not pull or scrub the skin.

    • Reapply Moisturizer Frequently: Continue using a hydrating moisturizer to combat dryness and prevent irritation.

    • Avoid Makeup (if possible): Allow your skin to breathe. If you must wear makeup, choose non-comedogenic, mineral-based products and make sure to remove them gently at the end of the day.

    • Skip Intense Workouts or Sweating: Avoid heavy exercise or sweating for a few days to prevent irritation or infection.

    10+ Days After the Peel:

    • Resume Normal Activities Gradually: As your skin heals, you can slowly return to your regular skincare routine, but avoid harsh exfoliants or products with active ingredients (like retinol or acid-based products) until fully healed.

    • Continue Using Sunscreen: Protect your new skin by applying SPF every morning. Your skin will remain more sensitive to UV rays for several weeks, so consistent sun protection is essential.

What to Avoid After a Chemical Peel:

    • Avoid Hot Showers and Saunas: Heat can irritate the skin and prolong healing.

    • No Picking or Scratching: Let the peeling process happen naturally to avoid scarring.

    • No Tanning or Tanning Beds: Your skin is more vulnerable to UV damage post-peel.

    • Avoid Strong Active Ingredients: Don’t use retinoids, exfoliating acids, or vitamin C until your skin has fully recovered (usually 7-10 days).
